UNIVERSOUNDS

UNIVERSOUNDS specializes in jazz, including rare groove, independent black jazz, and Japanese jazz. The owner, Yusuke Ogawa, was attracted to rare grooves in the early 1990s when he moved to Tokyo and began collecting records. In 2001, he opened a store in Nishi-Shinjuku and later moved to Koenji. Although it is a small, privately owned store, Ogawa's passion for music and his expertise have made it possible for the store to be filled with a wide variety of records.
