Record Boy traces its origins back to the 1980s when the owner of DOLL MAGAZINE opened a coffee shop that eventually evolved into a hub for fans and musicians of early independent music like punk and Japcore. The shop also played a key role in distributing limited edition releases from both domestic and international bands, many of which have since moved on to major labels. Focused on new releases, Record Boy is dedicated to introducing niche and extreme music from around the world, maintaining a strong passion for discovering new and groundbreaking sounds in the extreme music scene.
