大洋レコード & Delicatessen
Located in Kagurazaka, Tokyo, Taiyo Records specializes in CDs and vinyl, with a particular focus on music from Brazil and Argentina. Owner Ryosuke Ito selects music based on his interest in independent artists who are active today. The shop has built its own international network, partnering with a distributor in São Paulo and working with an agent in Buenos Aires to source releases from Argentina.
Since opening in 2005, Taiyo Records has evolved from an import CD shop into a label as well, launching its own releases in 2006. Its work includes specially curated compilations and exclusive editions, helping introduce distinctive artists and their music to Japanese audiences.
The current shop features a counter that Ito largely built himself, reflecting his long-standing desire to create a space where visitors can enjoy coffee and food alongside music. Guests can enjoy hand-dripped coffee as well as feijoada, a traditional Brazilian bean and meat stew that Ito has spent time developing himself. More than just a record shop, Taiyo Records is a welcoming cultural space where music, food, and international connections come together, offering visitors the chance to discover independent music from around the world.
