RARE Kichijoji

RARE Kichijoji is a record shop loved by a wide range of people, from vinyl enthusiasts to those just starting their musical journey. The shop’s owner, Masuda, hails from Shiga Prefecture and first immersed himself in music through playing in bands during his student years. His passion deepened through Japanese punk rock, which led him further into the world of music. After moving to Tokyo, he began working at RARE Koenji, later gaining experience at the Ogikubo and Nakano locations before establishing the Kichijoji store as an independent branch 13 years ago.

RARE Kichijoji embraces the charm of a true neighborhood record shop, offering a welcoming atmosphere where anyone can drop by. The shop values conversations with customers, creating a space that serves as both a hub for sharing musical knowledge and a place for people to connect over their love of records.

The store is also well-organized, making it easy for beginners to browse and discover music.
