KIKI RECORD
KIKI RECORD is a one-of-a-kind record shop curated by Masamichi Baba, who travels across Asia—especially Indonesia—seeking out unknown and overlooked vinyl. Tucked away near Takanodai Station in western Tokyo, the shop is a reflection of Baba’s deep passion for 1960s music, vintage print materials, and forgotten cultural artifacts.
The store overflows with rare records, dusty cassettes, and Indonesian magazines, offering a glimpse into an alternate musical past. Inspired by his early experiences in Jakarta—where entering a local record store felt like stepping into an entirely unknown world—Baba seeks to recreate that sense of wonder through his selection.
The space itself is filled with lovingly sourced vintage furniture and quirky details, creating an atmosphere somewhere between a Southeast Asian café and a collector’s living room. On weekends, Baba also runs Snack Baba, a record bar in Ikebukuro, where people gather to talk and connect over music.
Whether you're a seasoned digger or just curious about Asian records, KIKI RECORD invites you to drop the needle and dive into the unknown.
