WHOLE EARTH RECORD STORE MAP

Darumaya Records & Craft Beer

Located in Ikebukuro, Darumaya is a record shop run by a passionate music and beer lover. The store originally started as a mail-order business in 1990 before opening its physical location in 1995. Its name was inspired by Jack Kerouac’s "The Dharma Bums."

The owner has been a rock enthusiast since his youth, developing a deep love for British pub rock. After experiencing the London music scene firsthand, he returned to Japan and established his own record shop. The store boasts an extensive collection, from vintage classics to essential records spanning multiple genres.

Another major draw of Darumaya is its craft beer selection. Fascinated by the diversity of beer, the owner began brewing original beers, featuring unique varieties such as traditional British-style pale ales and modern hoppy Weizens reminiscent of an English pub.

Darumaya is more than just a record store—it's a place to discover new music, enjoy great beer, and immerse yourself in a rich cultural experience.
