AFTER HOURS SESSION

S.O.N.E

- Could you share the thoughts and ideas behind this mix?

I carefully selected the tracks while maintaining a certain groove, ensuring that each song's quality and progression stood out. This one-hour mix is a personal interpretation of what I've experienced at parties over the past few years.

- Can you tell us about your approach to creating mixes?

When it comes to creating a one-hour mix, I always choose one key track I want to include and then build the rest of the mix around it.

- What methods do you prefer when searching for new music? Do you still enjoy browsing for music in record stores, or have you come to prefer online purchases?

I love searching for records in shops. While I might check out potential buys online, I rarely purchase right away. Instead, I prefer visiting stores, hoping to stumble upon those gems in person.

- Besides DJing, what stimulates your creativity?

Going out and exploring different places is essential for me. It naturally expands my community, allowing me to meet new people and gain inspiration. When I look back on the times I've wanted to do something new, it often wasn’t from sitting alone and thinking about it—it was from interpreting my experiences and then trying something out.

- Do you have any advice for those looking to start a career as a DJ?

I can't claim to have all the answers, but as a DJ who plays a wide range of genres, I think it's crucial to attend a variety of parties. By deepening your connections and exposing yourself to different influences, you can start to develop your own style. Respecting the people you meet along the way will naturally help you sustain your journey over time.

- What plans do you have for 2024?

As a DJ, I host a party called "DISCOMORE" once or twice a year at CLUB MAGO. Additionally, I co-host a deep dance music party called "MAGNA" with my partner Yoshito at Kalakuta Disco every two months. Looking ahead, I’m hoping to increase my DJ appearances outside the prefecture.
