- Could you share the thoughts and ideas behind this mix?
I’m basically showcasing my vibe and what I always loved: house music and break beats. As you can notice, mostly groovy stuff with rich drum lines and solid rhythms with a bit of melodies and harmonies in between.
Being an in-store session and not a prime time club session, I also included some deep sonorities and warm atmospheres in order to fit the mix to this concrete situation.
- Can you tell us about your approach to creating mixes?
I don’t use to “pre-prepare” much, of course I select a bunch of records for my bag but then I always go “freestyle” and try to feel the moment and to share in real time the journey I’m musically living while I’m playing.
Of course depending on the context, club / listening bar / in-store session, I make different records selection but then you never know what is going to happen so I prefer to let the music guide me.
- What methods do you prefer when searching for new music? Do you still enjoy browsing for music in record stores, or have you come to prefer online purchases?
For sure I really enjoy digging deep in record stores, in Tokyo I had a blast cause you guys have so many record shops in each district of the city and I love spending time browsing for music and coming back home with some proper gems :) That being said, I also like online purchases, on Discogs you can make some very good deals and in general certain records can be found just online and not in record shops. If you want to step-up your selection as a DJ I think you should make a kombo with online and physical purchases.
- Besides DJing, what stimulates your creativity?
I love music production, I consider it way wider than DJing, less straightforward and for sure an upgrade if you’re a DJ. I think it allows you to express and define yourself as an artist and is a never ending creativity source.
I have also been breakdancing for around 20 years (that’s probably why I love breaks) and with no doubts this enormously contributed to stimulate my creativity.
Apart from this I think your daily life can be a solid source of inspiration, in my case I reckon that traveling has a fundamental role.

- Do you have any advice for those looking to start a career as a DJ?
Hmmm…I would suggest them to spend some energy to properly understand how this industry works first, inside and outside ….it can be frustrating sometimes so just remember that you’re doing it because you love it. Networking and music production can also be some game changer factors.

- What plans do you have for 2025?
Releasing new music on my own label Svogue and on other labels, producing more music, traveling, DJing, organizing some cool event, enjoying life / family / friends 😀
