AFTER HOURS SESSION

Joutro Mundo

- Could you share the thoughts and ideas behind this mix?

I tried to showcase a bit of Brazilian music, which has a very wide spectrum. Moving from classic disco and brazilian boogie, evolving into ‘90s house, and also new edits and remixes.

- Can you tell us about your approach to creating mixes?

I try to connect different styles and eras, bringing them together through Brazilian rhythms like Afoxé, disco, house, and boogie. I mix classics with discoveries, organic grooves with electronic ones. The idea is to tell a story without being stuck in one style.

- What methods do you prefer when searching for new music? Do you still enjoy browsing for music in record stores, or have you come to prefer online purchases?

I like both. Online is practical, but I really enjoy digging and discovering something new. That’s something I get more from digging in record stores and vinyl fairs, especially in Brazil.

- Besides DJing, what stimulates your creativity?

Besides DJing, travel really stimulates my creativity. Discovering new places, cultures, and sounds always inspires me and opens up new perspectives for my music.

- Do you have any advice for those looking to start a career as a DJ?

My advice is to stay true to your style and keep learning. Don’t be afraid to experiment, but also respect the music and the crowd. Keep practicing, dig for new sounds, and enjoy the journey!

- What plans do you have for 2025?

For 2025, I’m focusing on my label, Onda Boa, with new releases. I’m also excited to keep sharing my music live and collaborating with new artists.
